When designing a room, it will be advantageous to take into consideration timeless feng shui principles to create a balanced and harmonious environment. In the center area of your home (spiritual health area) , earth is the ruling element. Good colors to use in this part are light yellows, beiges and related earthy tones. They will promote stability, sustenance and protection.
Right of the center (children and creativity area), metal is the main element and white along with bright pastels will be perfect for this part of the home. They will bring out qualities of clarity and precision.
Left of the center (family area), use green, floral colors and gold to work with the chief element of wood. These promote the springtime energies of growth, renewal, strength and flexibility. Green is also an all-around healing color.
On the wall completely opposite of the entrance (fame area), fire is the main element and red is the best color to do justice to this energy. Reddish colors will bring out qualities of enthusiasm, leadership, motivation and movement. Red is an auspicious and overall good-luck color in FS.
Right of the far wall (relationships area), earth is the defining element and pink tones especially along with a few reds and whites will help to convey an intimate atmosphere and establish a healthy relationship to feminine aspects.
